Been caught speeding: Steelers legend nabbed in his new town deep in heart of Cowboys country

Pittsburgh Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw got caught speeding in his new town deep in the heart of Cowboys country.

“I haven’t been pulled over for speeding, or doing anything wrong for years,” Bradshaw made clear on the Kelly Clarkson show Tuesday.

Bradshaw was shocked after getting nabbed for going 55 mph in a 30 mph zone near a school in Saint Jo, Texas.

When the officer went back to the patrol car to run the former NFL star’s plate number, Bradshaw said his wife insisted he tell the cop who he is.

“I don’t play the celebrity routine, I don’t do that well,” the Hall of Fame quarterback, 74, joked. “I’m just Terry Bradshaw!”

Bradshaw said he couldn’t remind the cop he was the quarterback that helped the Steelers beat the Dallas Cowboys in two Super Bowls to let him off the hook.

“‘First of all I’m in Texas, this is Cowboy country!'” Bradshaw screamed. “‘Who beat ’em in the Super Bowls, who was the quarterback?”’ ”’Me!”‘ he said.

The Fox Sports analyst helped lead the Steelers to Super Bowl victories against the Cowboys during the 1975 and 1978 seasons.

Bradshaw left the audience laughing after saying he tried hiding all the Steelers’ stuff in his car when the officer stepped away.

Bradshaw recently listed his 744-acre ranch in Thackerville, Oklahoma before moving to Saint Jo earlier this year. The city of Saint Jo is about an hour and 21 minutes from Dallas and has a population of about 900 people.

Clarkson later brought up in the interview Bradshaw’s battle with two forms of cancer and his reasons for keeping quiet about it.

“That’s a hard thing to keep quiet…just physically while you’re working,” Clarkson said.

“…I just wanted to keep it quiet, my family knew,” Bradshaw said. “I’m a little self-conscious about my appearance, but that’s from treatments.”

“People were saying what’s wrong with me, and so finally Fox [Sports] allowed me to [announce the diagnosis].”

Bradshaw admitted it was a “long battle” and he still does follow-up treatments — but the NFL star said he is now cancer-free.
