Draymond Green implores Fever to get ‘enforcer’ for Caitlin Clark

Just about everyone is weighing in on the Caitlin Clark drama stemming from when Sky guard Chennedy Carter shoulder-checked the WNBA superstar over the weekend. 

And that included Draymond Green. 

The Warriors’ tough guy commented on an ESPNW Instagram post Saturday following the incident, decrying the lack of an “enforcer” on the Fever roster. 

“Indiana better go invest in an enforcer… FAST!” Green wrote in the comments.

Over the weekend, Carter gave Clark a hard foul late in the third quarter away from the ball just as her teammate Aliyah Boston was about to make an inbounds pass.

Carter appeared to respond to Green’s comment on Sunday in a post of her own on X. 

“we grown asf & y’all talking about enforcer man gtfoh , hoop or shut up,” Carter wrote on the social media platform.

Green wasn’t the only NBA player to chime in on the weekend’s events, with ex-NBA player Matt Barnes responding via a video he posted to his Instagram account. 

Barnes questioned where Clark’s teammates had been to stand up for her.

“My issue and my question is, Where the f–k are her teammates at? Where y’all at? Where are the rest of the Indiana Fever at?” Barnes asked. 

“I’ve seen a couple of girls smirk when she’s got knocked down, half-ass to pick her up. Like, y’all supposed to protect the asset, protect the star. And although this is a team, you always protect your star. I was someone who protected the stars. You f–k with Kobe, [Chris Paul], Blake [Griffin], the list goes on, it’s going to be a problem.”

The intense scrutiny around the play has led to plenty of conversations about Clark and the reaction to her from fellow WNBA players. 

It’s also led to some heated discussions, including a contentious debate between Stephen A. Smith and Monica McNutt on Monday’s “First Take” on ESPN.
