DraftKings to offer ‘No Touchdown’ option on player props in huge NFL betting shift

DraftKings Sportsbook is bringing a new look for sports bettors in 2024.

After a upset with the company’s pricing on props, theorizing that the sportsbook is using these markets to juice prices in an attempt to pay for the high tax rates that New York, among others, is placing on operators.

DraftKings is pushing back against that narrative, as the sportsbook tells The Post it will be offering a “No Touchdown” option on touchdown scorer props beginning with the 2024 NFL season.

“Touchdown betting markets are extremely popular, and we want to offer the most comprehensive NFL product possible. This year, we will be introducing ‘No Touchdown’ markets for select players over the course of the season,” DraftKings’ director of trading Johnny Avello exclusively tells The Post. “This offers customers a new opportunity to choose how they engage with the league’s most popular players.”

It is unclear how vast the options will be for the consumer in terms of players, but DraftKings tells The Post the bet will be available throughout the regular season and not just for the marquee events or playoff games, and will feature the league’s biggest stars.

Most sportsbooks, other than ESPN BET, are only offering “Yes Touchdown Scorer” markets.

Adding the “no” side of touchdown scorers should, in theory, improve the experience for players looking for accurately priced sides in the anytime touchdown scorer market.

The “yes/no” markets are typically available at sharp, Vegas-based sportsbooks that welcome action from professional gamblers.

DraftKings’ inclusion of the “no” side of the anytime touchdown scorer market –– one of the most popular bets to make in football –– helps quell the allegations that it is looking to price gouge customers after they failed to institute a surcharge that would cost bettors dearly.

Some had questioned the odds being offered this year on anytime touchdown props and noting they seemed worse for bettors than in previous years.
