Off-duty NYPD cop charged with DWI following arrest in Brooklyn

An off-duty NYPD cop was arrested overnight for driving drunk in Brooklyn, authorities said.

Angel Balbuena, 27, was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday within the confines of the 66th Precinct, which covers Borough Park, Midwood and Kensington, police said.

Balbuena was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test, the NYPD said.

A department spokesperson had no other details.

Balbuena, who started on the job in 2018, is assigned to the 77th Precinct stationhouse in Crown Heights, according to public records.

He earned, $68,500 last year, the public records show.
