Tyreek Hill wasn’t the only Miami Dolphin detained by police ahead of their season-opening win on Sunday.
Defensive lineman Calais Campbell was also placed in handcuffs, he told NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe on air following the Dolphins’ 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“For him to put handcuffs on me, I felt some type of way,” said Campbell, who tried to help Hill. “But that just goes to show how resilient we are. We didn’t let that stop us.”
Hill was detained hours before kickoff for what Miami-Dade police claimed to be a “traffic incident.”
The star wide receiver was cited for reckless driving, though the encounter is under review.
