‘SNL’ star Colin Jost says buying Staten Island ferry with Pete Davidson was ‘dumbest’ purchase ever
This investment didn’t float his boat.
“Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost called buying a decommissioned Staten Island ferry “absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase I’ve ever made in my life.”
The “Weekend Update” anchor expressed his sunken feeling to People magazine at the Tommy Hilfiger show during New York Fashion Week, which was held on board the boondoggle — aka the John F. Kennedy.
Jost and fellow native Staten Islander and “SNL” cast member Pete Davidson purchased the retired vessel at auction for $280,000 in 2022. The partnership, which includes architect and developer Ron Castellano and comedy club owner Paul Italia, reportedly planned to convert it into a $34 million entertainment venue.
