The Yankees have landed their man to replace the legendary John Sterling.
Mariners TV announcer Dave Sims was named WFAN’s new play-by-play broadcaster on Yankees games, the station announced Thursday, confirming an earlier report from The Post that a deal was near.
“The radio voice of the Yankees is a storied position in the history of baseball,” said Chris Oliviero, New York Market President, Audacy in a statement. “From Allen and Barber to Rizzuto to Sterling, the names are synonymous with the pinstripes. Dave Sims is a worthy successor to that lineage. We are honored to have Dave join the incomparable Suzyn Waldman in the booth in the Bronx.”

Sources told The Post that the Yankees approve of WFAN’s choice for him to succeed Sterling.
