Suzanne Simpson’s DNA found on hand saw previously concealed by husband: court docs

DNA from missing Texas mother Suzanne Simpson has been found on a hand saw that was hidden from police by her real estate tycoon husband who’s been charged with her murder, according to court filings.

The massive evidentiary development was included in the indictment against Brad Simpson, 51, on Tuesday, according to KABB.

A handheld reticulating saw that contained some manner of Suzanne’s DNA was listed in the indictment — with authorities saying Simpson sought to knowingly conceal the saw to hinder the investigation into his wife’s disappearance.

Brad Simpson also tried to hide a fully automatic rifle that was not registered with the ATF or National Firearms registration, according to court documents reviewed by the outlet.

The father of four was arrested and formally charged on Thursday in the disappearance and alleged murder of his 51-year-old wife.

The couple had a public altercation at a tony country club just hours before Suzanne vanished from her home on October 6.

In the period between the altercation and her disappearance, Suzanne called her mother and revealed her real estate tycoon husband had become physically abusive.

A neighbor told police at the time that he saw the couple fighting outside their Olmos Park home between 10 and 11 p.m.

That neighbor said he watched the couple walk into the woods, from which, a short time later, “two or three screams” were heard. 

Brad left the family home alone in a pickup truck about an hour after going into the woods, according to the neighbor.

Brad reported his wife of 22 years missing on Monday, October 7, and was arrested for the first time on October 9. He was rearrested and finally charged earlier this week.

The craven husband was also witnessed buying Clorox wipes and cement the day after his wife was heard screaming in the woods, police said.

Bulky garbage bags and ice coolers were covered in a tarp in his pick-up truck’s flatbed as it pulled into a Whataburger on October 7, according to an affidavit.

Simpson is facing charges of tampering with physical evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse as well as charges related to his wife’s murder, though the indictment did not elaborate on how Suzanne was killed and her body hasn’t been found.

After her father’s arrest, eldest daughter Chandler Simpson accused her dad of killing her mother.

“My mom was a victim of abuse from my father,” the 20-year-old wrote in a series of Instagram posts.

“My father took my mother’s life in a state of rage and control,” she said. “My mother tried to leave my father and lost her life.”

James Valle Cotter, 65, a former business partner of Brad’s, was also arrested at his home last month on a third-degree felony charge of tampering with evidence with intent to impair an investigation, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Cotter tried to get rid of a weapon for Simpson that cops believe was used in the murder of Suzanne.

Suzanne’s body remains unrecovered.
