Jack Del Rio asked cop to let him ‘take a leak’ in drunk driving arrest video

Dashcam video has emerged of former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio’s arrest in Wisconsin for OWI.

Del Rio, 61, was working as an advisor on the University of Wisconsin football staff in November when he was arrested for alleged drunk driving in Madison after allegedly striking a street sign and then a residential fence with his vehicle.

TMZ Sports has obtained the video of Del Rio’s arrest, which showed him moaning in apparent pain.

“Can we just take a leak man?” Del Rio asked an arresting officer in the video, while in the back of the cop car. “Look at me. What the f–k?”

The officer responded, “I don’t have anywhere to take you right now, man.”

Del Rio continued to plead, asking “Can we please go somewhere to take a leak?”

Del Rio declined a breathalyzer test and was informed by the officer that he would be seeking a warrant to get a blood test.

The former NFL head coach continued to groan and when an officer asked him what was wrong he said, “It’s just this pain.”

Del Rio struggled to get out of the police vehicle when it arrived at its destination, and said that his “f–king arm won’t work.”

Del Rio played linebacker for the Saints, Chiefs, Cowboys and Vikings in an NFL career that spanned from 1985-95.

He was head coach of the Jaguars from 2003-11 and Raiders from 2015-17, later spending four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Commanders.

After Del Rio’s arrest, Wisconsin’s head coach Luke Fickell announced that Del Rio would be resigning his role as a senior advisor on the staff.

“He’s going to move forward and he’s going to resign and move on,” Fickell told reporters. “But it’s a tough situation, decisions that all of us have to be able to take full responsibility for. So, that’s what Jack will do and we’ll continue to move forward.

“We’ve got a few weeks left in the season, a lot of things to continue to fight for and nobody wants to take away from that, whether it’s me or Jack or anybody within our football program. We’ll move forward from that.”
