Floyd Mayweather attacked by vicious mob in London over support for Israel

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was attacked by a vicious mob in London over his support of Israel and the Jewish people, according to witnesses.

Mayweather, 47, was out shopping in London’s swanky Hatton Garden neighborhood when he was targeted by the brutes, videos shared on social media show.

Members of the mob taunted the fighter, who was flanked by security, with racial slurs — and at least one person attempted to take a swing at him, the Sun reported.

A witness told the publication that the altercation erupted after Mayweather told the crowd he was “proud to support the Jews.”

“Someone said that Mayweather had been shopping when he was asked why he supported Israel,” the onlooker said.

A crowd of about 20 to 30 people started rushing him with some accusing the retired boxer of supporting genocide. 

“He doubled down and said he was proud to support the Jews,” they continued, adding that the attack “looked very targeted.”

However, at no point during the chaos was Mayweather touched, a source close to the fighter told the Sun.

Mayweather later addressed the assault on Instagram, insisting that he “wasn’t punched or touched in any way.”

“What you’re seeing is just my security doing their job to keep things under control,” he said.

The boxer noted he was in the UK for a “quick 48-hour stop” to do some shopping.

“I’m perfectly fine, and there’s nothing more to it,” he added.

The attack comes days after the former US featherweight champion launched the Mayweather Israel Initiative, a charity fund to support Israeli orphans.

The charity, launched on Sunday, vows to gift every orphan in Israel a free birthday present. 

“Over the next year, every orphan in Israel will be visited by the Floyd Mobile and receive special birthday gifts,” Mayweather wrote. “To all the widows and orphans: Keep your heads held high as we honor the cherished memories of those who have passed.” 

Mayweather, who was one of the first big celebrities to visit Israel following Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks, has previously called the country his “home away from home.”

During a recent visit, Mayweather hosted a barbecue for Israel Defense Forces troops and also met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the history of Israel. 

“It was an honor to meet with you today. Your strength and courage are unmatched, and your commitment to protecting the Jewish people and citizens of Israel is truly inspiring. Keep using your voice and never back down,” Mayweather wrote online after the meeting. 

Mayweather described the trip as being “deeply emotional.” 

“Visiting injured soldiers, meeting families of fallen heroes, and connecting with the people of Israel has been a humbling experience,” he said.
