Astrology and ‘manifesting’ show me everything I need — from a good parking spot to my soulmate

A man puts his success down to astrology and manifesting — which he says has won him everything from his soulmate and dream job…to the best parking spaces.

Matthew Joseph, 29, begins each day with a half-hour routine of astrology podcasts, horoscopes, and manifesting his dreams with crystals and vision boards.

The pop singer and make-up artist says he has relied on help from the stars and crystals for all his life decisions for the last five years.

He claims this practice was key to landing his performance spot at Las Vegas pride in August this year.

And helped him meet his partner Alex Dee, 38, a chef, 18 months ago.

But he also uses manifestation in his every day life — to help him buy he right new car, find the best parking space and get good deals in the shops.

And he consults the stars to decide where to go on holiday and which gym classes to go to.

He’s speaking after the word ‘manifest’ was announced as Cambridge Dictionary’s Word of the Year.

Matthew, from Holyhead, Wales said: “My friends are all amazed at how my life has had such a glow up since I began doing all this — they are very supportive.

“Some people think I’m nuts, but I just go with the universe.

“I just trust it, and it’s definitely working for me.

“I live and breathe star signs. If they tell me something big is going to happen then I manifest it.

“I won’t do anything without consulting them.

“Before I started all this my life was boring – just eat, work, sleep.

“Now it’s full of happiness, health and passion.

“My stars predicted I was going to become a pop star so I manifested a massive high-profile gig, and I visualised it in my meditations and pictured it on my boards.

“I had thought it was unattainable but after manifesting I was successful.”

Matthew’s mum, Jill Williams, used to do tarot cards with him and read his star sign: she predicted he would be a big star, he said.

He started getting serious about astrology in 2020, because it reminded him of her and she was showing signs of dementia.

Matthew gets up at 6am every day to prioritise his astrology routine.

First he listens to an astrology podcast, then reads his star sign, Leo, on an app.

He interprets his star sign to create his intentions, visualisations, and affirmations and then he manifests them using crystals.

Matthew has at least 30 crystals in his home, and he carries some of them with him wherever he goes.

He always wears a moldavite crystal around his neck which he claims has helped change his life around.

He said: “It’s a wildly powerful crystal. It puts three-years worth of change in to just three months.

“It’s so powerful people don’t recommend wearing it but it’s guided and changed my life.”

Matthew also used astrology to help him meet his dream man.

He said: “After months of failed dates, my horoscope said I was due to meet my soul mate.

“So I manifested my perfect man – tall and with a beard, kind and funny – I put a picture on my board.

“Then suddenly I got a message from Alex through a dating app.

“We both knew straight away we were meant to be together.”

Matthew sticks his visualisation boards, and his affirmations up all around his home, and carries a collage of them as the background on his phone.

He has a Feng Shui money corner and a fame corner in his home – where he manifests furthering his career as a popstar.

Matthew also said his manifesting got a surge of energy due to his grief after his mum died aged 58 in June.

He said: “I don’t manifest negative feelings – I find the positives.

“When mum died I decided I could either be really sad or use the energy to make her proud.

“I’ve loved star signs since I used to do them and taro cards with her when I was little.

“It’s a big memory of mine so when she died I thought ‘I really want to make her proud’.

“She always said she’d read that I was going to be a big star.

“Earlier in the year I’d reached out to Las Vegas pride.

“When she died I manifested being in America on a stage with lots of sparkle and crowds shouting my name.

“Two weeks of that and Las Vegas confirmed me as an act. It was absolutely down to the manifesting. It was amazing.”

Matthew claims he also manifested performing his songs at MasPolomas pride in Grand Canaria in May 2023 and working with singer Myah Marie – who has worked with Selena Gomez and Britney Spears.

Matthew now has he sights set on getting one of his songs into the digital charts.

He said: “Astrology and manifesting has definitely opened big doors for me: it’s how I’m going to be a massive star like Justin Bieber.”
