Parris Campbell, Saquon Barkley developed special bond with Giants that’s making Eagles run sweeter

NEW ORLEANS — There were, according to Parris Campbell, “multiple moments over the course of the year.’’

Campbell, the seldom-used Eagles wide receiver, and Saquon Barkley, the oft-used Eagles running back, have a bond, developed during one previous year spent together, with the Giants in 2023.

That was not a great season for either of them, and they ended up together, again, in 2024 in Philadelphia.

After the Eagles overwhelmed the Commanders two weeks ago in the NFC Championship game, one of those “moments’’ arose.

“We were sitting in the locker room and we just embraced each other, just hugged each other,’’ Campbell told The Post. “It’s cool because me and him have become so close over the past two years. Our families are like family and hang out all the time. It was a really cool moment, to see both of us come from the same place and now here, it’s like night and day.’’

Campbell spent his first four NFL seasons with the Colts, signed with the Giants and in 2023 caught only 20 passes for 104 yards.

He signed a one-year deal with the Eagles and mostly sat and watched.

In five games, he had six receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown.

The night before the Eagles traveled to the Big Easy for a week of Super Bowl preparation,

Barkley and his fiancé went out to dinner with Campbell and his wife. They dined at DePaul’s Table Steakhouse in Ardmore, Pa.

“We enjoyed the moment,’’ Campbell said. “Just the four of us, just enjoying each other’s time and presence, just hanging out.’’

Mahomes: Mets have championship look

Patrick Mahomes is a minority owner of the Kansas City Royals franchise, but he isn’t sleeping on the Mets.

When Mahomes isn’t busy winning Super Bowls with the Chiefs, he is a big baseball fan.

Of course, his dad pitched for the Mets in 1999 and 2000 and instilled a love for the game in the two-time MVP quarterback.

Mahomes was in the crowd in Kauffman Stadium for the Yankees-Royals playoff series in October.

Juan Soto was huge in that series, so could he lead the Mets to a World Series?

“I think they’ll have a good chance,” Mahomes said. “They have a good team. They had a great year last year. To get those guys [Pete Alonso] back and adding Soto, I’m sure they’ll have another to compete for a championship. I’m excited for baseball this year. There’s a lot of big moves happening. Hopefully my Royals can make a case for themselves as well.”

Are Chiefs public enemy No. 1?

Former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, now a Fox broadcaster, was asked if he feels like the Chiefs, because they win all the time like New England once did, are villains because fans are tired of seeing them win.

“I think I was born into being a villain with New England,’’ Edelman said. “By the time I got there, they had three Super Bowls, so they were already looked at that way. I think in ’14, once we got that first one of the second generation [of Super Bowl runs], that’s when you really kind of knew that people hated us.’’

Graham activated

The Eagles activated defensive end Brandon Graham from injured reserve.

He is listed as questionable on the official injury report.

Graham has been on IR since suffering a torn triceps in Week 12, an injury which was expected to be season-ending.
