‘Hawk Tuah’ girl Haliey Welch filmed cameo for Glen Powell’s show ‘Chad Powers’: report

Haliey Welch is reportedly back on the scene and doing her thang in La La Land.

The 22-year-old meme queen, who shot to fame as the Hawk Tuah Girl following a viral TikTok video, filmed a cameo for Glen Powell’s upcoming show in Hollywood this past weekend, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that Welch was on the set of Powell’s new Hulu series, “Chad Powers,” and will appear in at least one scene with the “Twisters” star. The pair allegedly filmed reshoots just days ago.

This would mark the internet sensation’s first official acting role post-fame. She also appears in “Summer House” “Summer House” star West Wilson’s YouTube dating show, “West Date Ever.”

While Welch will reportedly play herself in the upcoming show when Powell’s character runs into her at a club, it is unclear if she will reenact her famous “hawk tuah and spit on that thang” catchphrase.

“Chad Powers” was created by Powell and the screenwriter/producer Michael Waldron. The comedy is based on former NFL star Eli Manning’s fictional character of the same name.

According to a synopsis of the series, it follows a “disgraced college quarterback named Russ Holliday,” who “disguises himself as Chad Powers and walks onto a struggling southern football team to revive his football career.” Powell, 36, is set to star as Holliday/Powers.

Reports that Welch recently filmed a cameo for the upcoming Hulu series come nearly one year after she shot to fame in June 2024 following a TikTok street interview in Nashville, Tennessee.

“What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?” the interviewers, Tim Dickerson and DeArius Marlow, asked Welch.

“You gotta give ’em that hawk tuah and spit on that thang!” she responded.

Welch later opened up about her newfound fame during an interview with The Tennessean.

“The first week of it, I was so embarrassed,” she admitted. “I wouldn’t come out of my house. I went to work, but that’s about it. Other than that, I didn’t go anywhere. But I went from being embarrassed to living in the moment.”

“If everyone else is making money off of it,” Welch added, “I might as well, too.”

Welch went on to join Zach Bryan on the stage during a concert in Nashville, throw the ceremonial first pitch at a New York Mets game, and appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” amid her superstardom.

She also launched a podcast, “Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch,” in September 2024.

Welch then almost immediately crashed in December.

“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community,” she said in a statement following the scandal.

“I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter,” Welch added.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission cleared Welch of any wrongdoing last month.

“For the past few months, I’ve been cooperating with all the authorities and attorneys, and finally, that work is complete,” she said after the investigation was officially closed.

Besides “Chad Powers,” Welch will also reportedly appear in an upcoming documentary about her life called “DocTuah,” per Deadline.

“The documentary will chronicle how Welch, a young woman from a small-town with no active social media presence, unknowingly created a viral moment that gave way into a global phenomenon,” a synopsis for the project read.
