Eric Adams has unveiled the name of the party line under which he plans to make his long-shot bid for reelection this year: Safe Streets, Affordable City. The former Democrat told 1010Wins Wednesday afternoon that he will run on that line come the general, after deciding not to seek to be his ex-party’s nominee. “Those are the issues that are important to New Yorkers,” Adams said of his third-party name. “They want a safe city. They want an affordable city. And I want them to know that is what I produced for them.” Adams announced last week that he would run as an independent later this year in what could shape up into a five-person race with the mayor, Mamdani or current Comptroller Brad Lander, and attorney Jim Walden.
