Rob Gronkowski jabs Bill Belichick over Jordon Hudson after calling romance a ‘distraction’

Rob Gronkowski kept the Bill Belichick jokes rolling Monday during the Fox upfronts in New York.

“Back in 1962, Fox wasn’t even a twinkle in Rupert Murdoch’s eye. Fox didn’t begin broadcasting until 1986,” Harris said when Gronkowski, 35, correctly answered the first upfront occurred in 1962.

The Fox NFL studio analyst replied that in 1986, Hudson was “not even a twinkle” in Belichick’s eye, per business reporter Daniel Kaplan.

Belichick, 73, who coached Gronkowski for nine seasons in New England, has been under a microscope following a disastrous appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning” in late April, when Hudson punted a question about how the pair met.

“We’re not talking about this,” she said on the broadcast.

It was initially reported that Belichick and Hudson met on a 2021 flight before going public with the relationship in 2024.

In the wake of the awkward Q&A, reports have alleged Hudson — a former college cheerleader and pageant contestant — has been barred from facilities at UNC, where Belichick is gearing up for his first season coaching football at the college ranks.

The university has since disputed those claims.

Hudson’s presence in Chapel Hill has also stirred commentary about whether she’s considered a distraction, something Gronkowski expanded on during a recent interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“You know, and in the back of your head, too, you’re just thinking to yourself as well, ‘When you were on the Patriots, the whole goal was to eliminate all the distractions that can possibly happen while you’re on the team,’” said Gronkowski, who won three Super Bowls with Belichick in New England.

“And don’t bring those distractions to the team and in the locker room, and we’re just looking down at the program in North Carolina and it feels like there are just distractions 24/7 down there.”

Belichick will make his regular-season debut as coach of the Tar Heels on Sept. 1, when they host TCU.

However, may not last until then.
