Millennials triggered by traumatizing fashion accessory making a comeback: ‘It’s giving PTSD’
In the early 2000s, one of these belts was likely hanging around your hips — and now, they’re back to haunt a new generation.
Disk belts, the flashy, divisive accessory that once accompanied low-rise jeans everywhere, are making a comeback thanks to Gen Z’s obsession with Y2K fashion.
Stores like Primark are proudly displaying them, as reported by The Sun, and TikTok is sounding the alarm.
One millennial mom was not amused when her teenage daughter reached for one. In a recent TikTok video, creator Nina Dixon (@ninadixon28) documented her daughter beelining for the blinged-out, circular belts — and the mother’s reaction said it all: pure fashion flashback horror.
“I can’t believe that they’ve made a comeback,” Dixon said while filming the “round ones” hanging with the rest of the trendy belts.
