Numbskull snaps pics of NYC sunset while subway surfing – days after teen died on same train

A screen-obsessed numbskull was spotted snapping pics of the sunset while subway surfing in Queens — just one week after a teen was killed because of the dangerous stunt on the same train.

The unidentified subway surfer was caught on camera on the roof of a 7 train subway car zipping on an elevated railway Thursday evening, according to photos obtained by The Post.

The surfer, clad in a mask and backpack, had his phone out to capture the dangerous stunt with a sunset background, the pics show.

Just one week ago, a subway surfing in Queens, according to police.

The teenager was riding on top of a southbound 7 train when he fell onto the tracks as it pulled into the Queensboro Plaza station around 2:45 a.m., police and sources said.

A disturbing video from the scene captured EMS rushing the bloodied teen out of the subway station on a stretcher.

The deadly trend continues to be a concern for the NYPD and city officials following several deaths and serious injuries to youngsters looking for an ill-conceived adrenaline rush.

The MTA has made some efforts to combat the reckless stunt, including initiatives like subway announcements voiced by New York City students urging passengers to “ride inside” and “stay alive.”

“This was as avoidable as it is tragic,” NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow said in a statement to The Post. “I implore family, friends, teachers, and anyone else who knows children that are even thinking about riding outside subway cars, to persuade them it’s not some video game, it’s suicidal.”
