The awkwardness can come to an end at Bills camp.
Buffalo and star running back James Cook agreed to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday — a deal worth a reported $48 million with $30 million guaranteed, NFL Network reported.
It puts an end to a strange hold-in situation for the 25-year-old as he pushed to be paid like one of the league’s top backs.

“This is the place that drafted me,” Cook said.. “The fans are good, the community is good, and just the team we got, man, we play as one. We are brothers and we have a good bond. It all shows they got my back.”
Cook practiced with the team at the start of camp but then stopped on Aug. 3, citing “business” reasons — in February, he said in a social media post that he wanted to be paid $15 million per year.
