Michael Jackson’s son Prince announces engagement to Molly Schirmang — with a touching nod to late dad

Prince Jackson is getting married.

Michael Jackson’s eldest son announced his engagement to Molly Schirmang after eight years of dating on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old shared the special news died in 2009 at age 50.

Prince’s social media post, which featured a carousel of pictures of the couple, was set to Michael’s 1987 song “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.”

“8 years down ♾️ to go,” Prince captioned his post. “Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together.”

“I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs 😘,” he added.

In their engagement photo, the couple wore all white and kissed in a park as Schirmang showed off her ring.

Prince’s post featured more photos of the pair from their adventures together, including hiking and kayaking. He also included a photo from their graduation from Loyola Marymount College in May 2019.

In another snapshot, the couple posed on a bench with Prince’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson, 95, outside the family’s Hayvenhurst compound in Encino, California.

Prince is the son of Michael and the pop star’s second wife, Debbie Rowe. The former couple, who were married from 1996 until 2000, also shared daughter Paris, 27, and son Bigi, 23.

Prince has made limited public appearances over the years, but the 2022 Tony Awards.

“A lot of people seem to think our dad Michael Jackson changed popular music forever. And who are we to disagree?” Prince said as the siblings presented a performance by the cast of “MJ: The Musical.”

Later that year, Prince opened up about Michael’s legacy to People.

“I think about him every day,” Prince said. “There are a lot of complexities in life that I feel parents teach their children [about], so without that, there’s some confusion there. And also, it’s a big legacy to uphold, you know? It would be great if I knew how he would like it to be upheld. So, in that way, I think about him every day.”

Prince also revealed that he regularly listens to his dad’s music.

“So much of his personality, so much of him, is in his music,” Prince added.
