Don’t sleep on these rarely ordered fast-food items — they’re actually good, fans insist

Customers aren’t lovin’ it — but maybe they should be.

Though few fast-foods are beloved by all, there remains countless sleeper-hit snacks buried at the bottom of value menus — some of which are undeniably delicous, fans attest.

At McDonald’s, the biggest McLoser is their hot tea, ordered so infrequently that one Ohio McDonald’s manager went viral in 2021 for sharing that he didn’t even know they sold it.

“Over the years, a ton of people have asked me what is the least ordered item at my McDonald’s,” Stephen Patula said in a TikTok video at the time. “We bought these stores in July and I have yet to serve one hot tea. I actually didn’t know that we sold hot tea until about a month ago.”

“Ironically, though, our most sold item is iced tea,” he added.

In the comments, other McDonald’s workers agreed that the hot tea — made with water, orange pekoe and pekoe cut black tea — was the least ordered item.

“We sold a hot tea the other day. No one knew how to make it,” one wrote. “We had to get the [general manager] to help us.”

“I honestly didn’t even know McDonald’s had tea until I started using Uber Eats,” another said. “It’s not very well advertised.”

User @sambucha suggested that the least ordered item at the Golden Arches is actually the Filet-O-Fish. He said it could understand why people don’t order it because it didn’t look appetizing — but it didn’t taste “too terrible.”

A different TikTokker went to his McDonald’s and they told him the least ordered item was the Daily Double, and after trying it, he said, “Yeah, I’m never getting this ever again.”

Sam added that Burger King’s Big Fish Sandwich is their least popular item — but it tasted “much better” than McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish.

Chick-fil-A’s least popular item is their Cool Wrap, which Sam said only 0.6% of customers order, but “is actually fire” in terms of taste.

People on social media have shared that Taco Bell’s least ordered item is the pintos and cheese, which is a bowl with beans, red sauce and cheese.

One TikTokker who seemingly works at the taco joint revealed that this only gets ordered once a week or once every two weeks.

Meanwhile, Sam said that Taco Bell’s least popular item was a Three-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt, which was “basically just a fatter quesadilla, and this was also incredible.”

Wendy’s least popular item is apparently their taco salad, which comes with a side of chili and “tastes pretty good, so great value there.”

Sam was surprised to learn that KFC’s least popular menu item was their chicken pot pie, which he said he personally loves.

However, he said that the most underrated least popular item from a fast food chain is the White Cheddar Bagel Twist from Dunkin’ — which Sam said “took the cake” as the best item he tried.
