Russell Wilson and Ciara share reaction to Giants benching with Instagram posts

Giants quarterback Russell Wilson kept things light on social media Tuesday, the same day he was benched for rookie Jaxson Dart.

The Super Bowl champ, who led New York to a pitiful 0-3 start this season, reposted a message from his wife, Ciara, on his Instagram Story that included a snapshot of the couple and their kids.

“We love you so much,” Ciara, 39, wrote, adding a heart-hands emoji.

“My why! Love you guys @ciara,” Wilson, 36, captioned his post.

Wilson was visiting patients at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in New York when the news of his benching broke Tuesday, as seen in photos the quarterback posted to X account.

Dart, whom the Giants selected 25th overall during the 2025 NFL Draft in April, will make his first NFL start Sunday against the Chargers at MetLife Stadium.

The shift to Dart came after Wilson tossed two interceptions and could not generate much offense in the Giants’ woeful 22-9 home loss to the Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football.”

At one point, “We want Dart!” chants rang through MetLife Stadium.

Although Dart played some snaps against Kansas City, he has yet to attempt a pass in his rookie season.

Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Giants in March after one season with the Steelers.

He started 11 games last season for Pittsburgh, throwing for 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 63.7 percent completion rate while leading the Steelers to the playoffs.

Wilson, who won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2014, wed Ciara two years after that championship game.

They are parents to daughters Sienna Princess, 8, and Amora Princess, 1, and 5-year-old son Win. Ciara is also a mom to son Future Zahir, 11, from a previous relationship.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, the Giants signed kicker Younghoe Koo to the practice squad after he was released by the Falcons.

Kickoff between the Giants and Chargers is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, and the Giants will look to hand Los Angeles (3-0) its first loss.
