D4vd’s family home targeted in ‘swatting’ call nearly a month after teen girl’s remains found in his abandoned Tesla

Queens-born singer D4vd’s family home in Texas was swarmed by police after a prank “swatting” call was made just days after the decomposed remains of a teenage girl were found in his abandoned Tesla. 

David Anthony Burke, a 20-year-old singer better known under his stage name, was in the middle of his world tour when cops, on Sept. 8, discovered a decomposing corpse stuffed in the trunk of a Tesla registered under his name at an impounding lot in California’s Hollywood Hills. 

On Sept. 18, just one day after Burke’s own Los Angeles home was raided by police, Texas cops responded to reports of an active shooting with at least one deceased victim at his family’s Hampstead home.

Instead, Burke’s frazzled parents greeted police waiting on their front stoop with their guns drawn, according to bodycam footage obtained by TMZ. 

Burke’s mother assured that her husband, daughter, and son were the only people present at the home and that they were all unharmed, according to the footage. 

At the time, Burke was supposed to be wrapping up the last leg of his US tour in Los Angeles, but the Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the dead 15-year-old found in his Tesla.

Burke’s parents grew fearful that someone might’ve broken into their home and police said they would do a sweep through the property.

Nobody else was found on site and the incident was filed away as a “swatting” prank. 

Rivas Hernandez, who was first reported missing in 2024, was found wrapped in plastic and badly decomposed. Her body was only discovered in the first place because passersby reported a “foul odor” coming from the Tesla.

The car was even ticketed 11 days before Rivas Hernandez’s body was recovered. Police presumed that she was likely dead for “several weeks.”

Rivas Hernandez’s mother said that her daughter, who had mentioned having a boyfriend named David. 

Burke drafted an stuffs his own corpse in the trunk of a car in February. 

Burke has not been named as a suspect. Rivas Hernandez’s body was released to her family, though an official cause of death hasn’t been announced.

The young artist, best known for his hit “Romantic Homicide,” skyrocketed to popularity on TikTok in 2022.

He quickly latched onto the momentum and released multiple songs made for popular animated television shows, including “Invincible” and “Arcane.” He also joined SZA as an opener on the North American leg of her 2023 tour.
