Sunday, for instance. You have a pitcher on one side with a lifetime record of 92-41 and a 3.03 ERA and a strong start on his dossier in the game that won his team the World Series championship. On the other you have a 24-year-old kid just two years out of East Carolina, just five out of Boyertown Area High School, 90 miles outside Philly, who’d thrown a total of 239 pitches in the major leagues before Sunday.
