What we learned from Jets’ Week 5 loss: The flaws in their plan

The Jets got embarrassed by the Cowboys on Sunday, losing 37-22 in a game that was not as close as the score indicates. Here are some thoughts and observations from the game:

1. The Jets let it be known what their plan was coming into this season with Justin Fields as their quarterback. They were not going to rely on Fields to carry the team. Instead, they were going to play good defense, have an effective run game centered around Fields and Breece Hall and just ask Fields not to turn the ball over.

For one, Hall fumbled before halftime on Sunday. Both turnovers were huge swings in momentum in the game.
