Supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s West Village starter home asking $16.99M

Brazilian supermodel and activist Gisele Bündchen’s West Village starter home is back on the market for $16.99 million.

Bündchen paid $5.8 million for the historic red brick home in 2005 — the same year she broke up with Leonardo DiCaprio. (The couple had been dating on and off since 1999.)

The 23-foot wide Italianate brownstone at 42 Barrow St. — one of six in a row — was briefly for sale last year, before it was pulled off the market after six months last October, according to Streeteasy. The current listing was first reported by Mansion Global.

Built in 1851, the 5,336-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-story home is part of the Greenwich Village Historic District.

The renovated home is anchored by a chef’s kitchen and also boasts a library and a main bedroom suite that takes up the entire fourth floor, with a double-height skylight, a spa-like bath, a dressing area and custom closets.

There’s also a garden, an elevator and a finished basement, with room for a gym.

Design details include high ceilings, hardwood floors and seven wood-burning fireplaces, as well as a third-floor terrace. A garden-level bedroom floor has an additional kitchen, plus access to the back garden. Bündchen sold the property to its current owners for $12.95 million in 2009, the year she married NFL quarterback legend Tom Brady.

Divorced in 2022, Bündchen and Brady share two children: Benjamin and Vivian. Bündchen had a third child, a boy, with her jiu-jitsu instructor boyfriend, Joaquim Valente, in February. Brady also has a son, Jack, with Bridget Moynahan. The listing brokers are Alex Daigh and Kellyn Goudie of Compass.
