Disney superfan announced she was pregnant 10 months before vanishing and killing herself at resort

The Disney super fan who died by suicide at Walt Disney World had announced she was pregnant just 10 months before she disappeared from home and was found dead at the resort.

Summer Equitz, 31, revealed that she was pregnant with her first child in a December 2024 Facebook post.

She and her husband, Nico Danilovich, had celebrated their honeymoon at Walt Disney World just two months earlier.

However, she shared no further public updates on her pregnancy or her marriage since posting her celebratory photo holding sonogram pictures 10 months ago.

Her body was found at the Contemporary Resort Hotel on Tuesday night.

She died from “multiple blunt impact injuries,” and a further investigation into her death is ongoing, according to a medical report obtained by Click Orlando.

Earlier that day, an apparent relative revealed that she had flown from her Naperville, Illinois, home to Orlando without telling anyone, according to a frantic missing persons post on Reddit.

In the since-deleted thread, the relative expressed concern for the missing woman, after she traveled to Disney World “without telling us.”

Emergency vehicles scrambled to the hotel, near the park’s Magic Kingdom, at around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday night after other guests reported seeing a dead body, according to law enforcement.

Footage shared on social media showed emergency services erecting a white pop-up tent on the hotel terrace, while police cars gathered outside.

At first, rumors claimed that a guest had been struck by the Disney monorail, which runs through the center of the Contemporary, and to Magic Kingdom and other hotels; however, authorities corrected this.

The guest “was not struck by the monorail, so that is erroneous information,” a representative from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) told People magazine.

“This is an apparent suicide,” the spokesperson continued.

A Disney super fan, Equitz said her “favorite Disney show of all time” was “Beauty and the Beast,” and described her “dream role” would be playing the movie’s heroine, Belle, according to her post on the Yorba Linda Spotlight Theater blog

She had also posted a picture of her beaming when she met Disney CEO Bob Iger at California’s Disneyland.

The OCSO did not respond to requests for comment Wednesday and Thursday.
