Conan Gray extends ‘Wishbone World Tour,’ adds NY show. Get tickets

Conan Gray won’t be retiring his pajamas anytime soon.

The aesthetically-ambitious hitmaker just announced he’s extending his ‘Wishbone Pajama Show Tour,’ which comes in support of his recently-released fourth studio album “Wishbone.”

He’ll now headline at Newark’s UBS Arena on Saturday, Feb. 28 with special guest Esha Tewari.

“[I] am thrilled to announce that the wishbone pajama shows are sailing worldwide— and now even bigger and better,” the 26-year-old shared via Instagram. “…bringing this album on tour to you has been the greatest joy of my life, and I can’t believe I get to keep wishbone’s story continuing through next year!!”

Prior to the outing, Gray is slated to lend his talents to not one, not two, not three but four (!) Jingle Ball concerts.

That includes a stop at New York City’s Alex Warren, Laufey, Reneé Rapp and Monsta X among others.

At past shows on the ‘Wishbone’ run, the “Actor” singer typically performed 20 songs over four sets and an encore, according to Set List FM. In addition to tracks from the new record, he also works in fan favorites like “Heather” (which has amassed over two billion streams on Spotify), “The Cut That Always Bleeds,” “Memories” and “Maniac.”

However, the spectacle that Gray works into his shows is what makes the ‘Wishbone Pajama Show Tour’ so special.

Miami New Times painted a lively picture of the proceedings, writing “the stage illuminated to reveal a band of seven women dressed in sailor outfits playing their instruments, standing on a stage set up to look like a rural Kansas prairie, complete with a weather vane. That’s when Conan Gray bicycled on to the stage to a buzz much louder than any Midwestern cicada swarm. Conan checked a faux mailbox as he went into the opener, ‘My World.'”

That’s not to mention the wishbone break with a Conehead picked at random from the crowd.

Fans Krows can purchase tickets for all upcoming Conan Gray shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for ‘The Wishbone Pajama Show Tour’ is Friday, Oct. 24.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Conan Gray new music

On Aug. 15, Gray dropped his fourth studio album “Wishbone.”

Although brief, the eight-track record packs an emotional punch. Wistful melodies, stripped-down production and evocative lyrics (“but the church bells won’t stop ringing for an undead wedding day” comes to mind) all leave a lasting impact.

The 43-minute offering from Gray launches with the remorseful “The Actor” that tells the story of a relationship gone wrong via ebullient singalong anthem. It’s a heartbreaking ballad hidden within a fist-pumping piece of pop.

Next up, “This Song,” finds the emotive hitmaker going full earnest as he taps into a deeper, rawer register over a lilting strings arrangement. This one would fit right in on an “early ’90s singers-songwriters” playlist.

From there, he delivers the gorgeously-arranged “Vodka Cranberry,” radio-friendly bop “Romeo” and dreamy “My World,” which is a plea for independence with a bit of classic Gray dwelling thrown in for good measure.

Other highlights include the melancholy “Class Clown,” pop-rocker “Caramel” and groovy “Sunset Tower.”

If you’d like to hear for yourself, you can find “Wishbone” here.

Esha Tewari

Tewari, a 19-year-old folk singer, will join Gray at all shows on the international jaunt.

For the uninitiated, she doesn’t swing for the fences but draws you into her world with deceptively simple arrangements and quietly vivid imagery.

We recommend starting with the chilled-out “bad decision!” and wistful “beautiful boy” if you’ve yet to check out her stuff.
