Assistant pitching coach Desi Druschel is headed back to the Yankees after a one-year stint with the Mets, The Post confirmed.
Druschel spent three seasons on pitching coach Matt Blake’s staff in The Bronx after joining the organization in 2019 before leaving for a similar role with the Mets prior to last season.
After pitching coach Jeremy Hefner was let go by the Mets after the season — with the team not picking up his contract option — Druschel was offered the opportunity to return to the Mets along with permission to speak to other teams.

Since he had been hired in part by Hefner, it made sense to go back to the Yankees, who also made a change to their coaching staff by not retaining longtime bullpen coach Mike Harkey.
