Haunting images of California girl missing for a year surface, as it’s revealed mom wore disguise during fateful roadtrip
Haunting new photos show the last known mages of a missing California girl — as her mom donned a wig after allegedly going on the run with her.
Melodee Buzzard, 9, was spotted on Oct. 7 in security footage from a Santa Barbara car rental outlet with her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, and both appeared to have wigs on their heads.

The images were released Monday by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, which said the pair then embarked on a road trip from California to Nebraska.
But the next day their car was clocked on the road with New York plates, and when it was returned on Oct. 10 in California the original plates had been returned.
Melodee, however, was not with her.
