Marjorie Taylor Greene praises Nancy Pelosi’s ‘incredible career’ – after accusing her of ‘treason’ years earlier

MAGA-loving Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene praised longtime Dem stalwart Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s “incredible career” following news of her retirement – a stark reversal from years earlier, when the Georgia Republican accused the former House speaker of “treason.”

Greene, a longtime Trump ally, recently made a shocking flip to support Dems in their calls to extend Obamacare tax credits during the government shutdown while making the rounds on lefty shows like ABC’s “The View.”

During her most recent appearance on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Thursday, host Wolf Blitzer asked Greene for her thoughts on Pelosi, who is 85 and will retire after 39 years in Congress.

“Well, my reaction is I believe in term limits. And I co-sponsored that bill. And it’s been decades now that I believe we have seen the failure in Washington, DC,” Greene replied.

“However, I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party,” she continued.

“I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress, and I’m very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party, like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party.”

Greene said she wishes Pelosi well in her retirement but hopes politicians will start leaving Washington “a lot sooner rather than wait until they’re 80.”

It was just a few years ago that Greene railed against Pelosi’s lax immigration stance and accused her of treason — comments that surfaced in an unsuccessful 2022 lawsuit that aimed at barring Greene from running for reelection.

“[Pelosi is] a traitor to our country. She’s guilty of treason. She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws, and she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land,” Greene said of Pelosi, according to the video,

“It’s a crime punishable by death, is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason and we want her out of our government,” Greene said in the clip.

The video was featured in a suit by a group of voters who accused Greene of helping facilitate the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at the US Capitol, an allegation Greene denied.

In the video, Greene threw in a jab at Pelosi’s age, saying, “She’s 78 years old. She’s dying in Congress. We are fed up with these corrupt politicians who hold onto their power just to make themselves rich.”

During her appearance earlier this week on “The View,” Greene repeatedly broke with Trump and called for “women of maturity” to unite.

She also defied the president’s endorsement of ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral race, instead supporting Republican Curtis Sliwa, and called for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

While joining Dems in calling for Obamacare subsidies to be extended — a key sticking point in the current government shutdown — Green clarified in a social media post last month that she is “not a fan” of the 44th president’s signature legislation. She noted she was not in Congress when the legislation was passed in 2010.

“But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year, my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district,” she wrote.
