What we learned from Giants’ Week 10 loss: Another masterclass in a fourth-quarter collapse

The Giants played on Sunday. They lost on Sunday. What else is new?

The Giants held a double-digit lead in a road game on Sunday. And the Giants did not protect that lead on Sunday. Is anyone surprised? It was the fourth time this season that this has happened to a team that is good enough to flirt with winning and almost always bad enough to end up losing.

Anyone familiar with what the Giants are all about could see this coming. Anyone who knows these Giants could envision their 20-10 lead with 10:19 remaining dissipating and eventually going away, for good. And so, their 24-20 loss to the Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago was more of the same. For some teams, this fourth-quarter collapse would represent the worst loss of a season. For the Giants, it might not even crack their top three as they fell to 2-8 and lost rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart to a concussion.
