Jack Schlossberg rips ‘dangerous’ cousin RFK Jr. as JFK grandson launches campaign for Congress

Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, kicked off the first day of his campaign for the House of Representatives Wednesday by ranting against his “rabid dog” cousin, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“RFK Jr. is a dangerous person who is making life and death decisions as secretary of Health and Human Services,” Schlossberg, 32, told MSNBC in an interview. “And you don’t have to take my word for it. Now we have an actual record to go on. He has cut a quarter of the people who work in his agency. He fired all the vaccine experts on the [Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices] and replaced them with anti-vaxxers.”

“I mean, when he’s not making infomercials for Steak ‘n Shake and Coca-Cola, he’s spreading misinformation and lies that are leading to deaths around the country. There’s a measles outbreak in America right now, higher than it’s been in 40 years, as a direct result of what he has done.”

Schlossberg went on to claim that his cousin’s presence in President Trump’s cabinet is due to the current commander in chief being “obsessed with the Kennedys and the Kennedy name.”

“He put a collar on my cousin, RFK Jr. And has him there barking, spreading lies and spreading misinformation.”

Schlossberg, the son of former first daughter and ex-US Ambassador to Japan and Australia Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, is seeking the Manhattan seat held by retiring Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and has not been shy about criticizing his 71-year-old cousin in the past.

He had been one of the first members of his family to come out forcefully against RFK Jr. 

Despite his misgivings with his cousin, Schlossberg argued that “I don’t think there’s anything anyone can do to change what JFK, my grandparents, my Uncle John, stood for — nobody’s that powerful.”

The Kennedy scion is facing a crowded Democratic primary field to succeed Nadler, including from journalist Jami Floyd, 51, non-profit founder Liam Elkind, 26, New York State assemblyman Micah Lasher, 43, and assemblyman Alex Bores, 35.

Lasher is widely seen as Nadler’s protege. 

Schlossberg was primarily raised in the Upper East Side and later attended Yale University and Harvard Law School. Over recent years, he has emerged as a prominent liberal writer and has been outspoken about politics. 

The Kennedy heir spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last year, in which he heaped praise on then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

With around 1.6 million followers across his social media, Schlossberg earned a reputation for going on rants and giving hot takes.

Shockingly, he declared that actress Sydney Sweeney is “not hot.”

The Post previously reported that his mother has been nervous about her son entering the political fray. 

“Jack’s decision to throw his hat in the ring has seriously frightened Caroline, who believes the political world has become too dangerous, too frightening, too crazy, and so she doesn’t want her only son … running for elective office in the current toxic environment,” a close source previously told The Post.

In his campaign launch, Schlossberg leaned on his grandfather’s legacy.

“Each generation of Americans is tested. The 2026 midterms is our moment,” Schlossberg’s website declares. “I’m running for Congress because the best part of the greatest city on earth needs to be heard loud and clear in Washington and deserves a representative who won’t back down.”
