The in-your-face leader and public face of the crackdown has been Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino, a nearly 30 year veteran of the patrol, who has garnered both online criticism and praise for his enforcement tactics- and who is featured in Hollywood-esque promotional videos of the agency’s work.
