Nick Cannon says quitting AGT was best decision of his life

A year after his dramatic exit from NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” Nick Cannon says that quitting the show was “the best decision I ever made in my life.”

Cannon walked away in February 2017, claiming he was “being threatened with extermination by executives” after he joked in a Comedy Central special, “I honestly believe once I started doing ‘America’s Got Talent,’ they took my ‘real n—a’ card.”

On Wednesday, Cannon told Page Six at the launch of Fabreze’s #BleepDon’tStink campaign that the incident was an opportunity to “take charge and show I wasn’t just a person for hire.”

He said, “I think now people see I can’t be bought, I will speak my mind and I will always be on the side of artists.”
