Joy Behar and Meghan McCain’s on-air sparring apparently extends behind the scenes of “The View.”
During Tuesday’s episode of the talk show, former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned as a guest to promote her new book, prompting some discussion about Behar’s past on-air fighting with right-leaning Hasselbeck and her tiffs with current conservative co-host McCain.
After Behar said of Hasselbeck, “We used to fight on the air all the time,” McCain chimed in by joking, “What’s that like? I don’t know.”
Behar then snipped back, “It’s a little different.” Pointing at Hasselbeck, Behar said, “Truthfully, we never fought backstage. See, that’s the difference.”
In one recent on-air spat, Behar accused McCain of having a “hissy fit” when trying to share her opinion on Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s presidential run.
Hasselbeck, who also famously feuded on the air with co-host Rosie O’Donnell, was on “The View” from 2003 to 2013.
