Wendy Williams won’t be on the small screen next week.
Amid personal turmoil, Williams, 54, and her eponymous talk show are going on hiatus for the week, Page Six has learned. “The Wendy Williams Show” will air repeats next week and resume taping new episodes the following week.
“‘The Wendy Williams Show’ is taking a previously scheduled spring break hiatus and airing repeat episodes during the week of April 1st,” a spokeswoman for the show said in a statement. “The show will return with original episodes on April 8th.”
A source told Page Six that the April break had been planned since the fall, with a separate production source saying the respite is simply coincidental with the goings-on in Williams’ private life.
“This obviously has nothing to do with recent events,” the production source told us. “The staff is excited to have Wendy back, and they understand what’s been going on with her, but it’s business as usual.”
Williams’ second hiatus comes only a month after she came back from a two-month break. When she living in a sober facility to treat her addiction issues.
Since then, Page Six has confirmed that Williams’ husband’s mistress, Sharina Hudson, to get drunk and took a car back to her New Jersey home. After being treated with IV fluids, Williams returned to the Queens-based sober house and taped a show the next day.
Williams told TMZ on Wednesday that she was feeling “wonderful” despite the drama plaguing her personal life. While she was wearing a wedding ring and was even spotted out with Hunter, a third source told us it wasn’t indicative that their marriage was in a good place.
