The Script co-founder Mark Sheehan dead at 46
The Script co-founder and guitarist Mark Sheehan died on Friday after battling a brief illness. He was 46.
“Much loved husband, father, brother, bandmate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness,” the Irish rock group wrote in a statement posted to their Instagram on Friday.
“The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time.”
Tributes flooded in as fans of the late musician mourned his sudden loss.
”I don’t know what to say other than this is breaking my heart in 100000 pieces. Many many many hugs and loves to families and friends. Shaking while typing this. Rest in peace legend ❤️💔,’ one person commented on the post.
“❤️❤️❤️ thank you for everything Mark,” a second person wrote.

The late musician co-founded The Script with his childhood friend and the group’s lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O’Donoghue, 42, as well as drummer Glen Power, 41, in 2001.
The band debuted its eponymous album in 2008 and is known for hits including “We Cry,” “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved,” “Breakeven” and “Before the Worst.”
They went on to record five more studio albums and have sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Last year, Sheehan skipped out on the U.S. leg of the band’s world tour, however, O’Donoghue confirmed to the Sunday World that it was due to family commitments.
“It’s his story to tell, but yeah, I guess if I could paraphrase, his children needed a father and his wife needed a husband,” O’Donoghue said.
Sheehan was married to Reena Sheehan. They had three children.
