Savannah Chrisley: I wasn’t my ‘most patient self’ during Southwest incident

Savannah Chrisley blamed her impatience for being kicked off a Southwest flight last month.

On Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, “Unlocked,” the “Chrisley Knows Best” alum, 25, gave further details about the incident.

Chrisley explained that she had gotten into a verbal altercation with an employee after he told her that she would need to check her bag because there was no overhead space left.

The reality TV star refused, telling him that she would like to see for herself first, before dubbing him “an a–hole.”

After insulting him, she proceeded to get kicked off the plane. However, she tried to rectify the situation by apologizing.

She said, “I told the attendant, ‘You know what? We all have tough days. Clearly, you’re in a mood. I’m in a mood. I apologize. I should not have called you an as–hole. Let’s check my bag.”

But, it was too little too late and the employee still did not allow her to board.

Savannah noted that she had lost her cool because she wanted to get home to her niece, 10-year-old Chloe, whom she recently sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for tax evasion and fraud.

She explained that the situation caused her to not be her “most patient self” and she called the employee an “a–hole” again.

Despite admitting that she was late to board the plane and had asked an exception be made for her bag, Savannah said that she doesn’t feel like she’s “better than anyone else.”

“I do not think I’m better than to not have to check my bags,” she noted. “All I asked was let me see if there’s room because we’ve all been on a plane before [where] some people just don’t play Tetris that well, and there’s a lot of wasted space.”

Last month, the reality star documented her airline experience on social media, saying that she was headed back home to Tennessee when the airline attendant “threw her off the flight” for refusing to check her carry-on bag.

After the incident made headlines, a rep for Southwest Airlines told Page Six that Savannah “repeatedly insulted several employees.”

Due to her actions, she was “denied boarding on her original flight” and booked on a “later flight the same day.”

The spokesperson also claimed that the former beauty queen “arrived at the gate late in the boarding process and was asked to gate-check her bag due [to] the overhead bins being full and to avoid delaying the more than 100 passengers already onboard the aircraft.”

Southwest concluded that they were aware of Savannah’s Instagram videos and is “looking into the situation.”
