Elizabeth Banks shares why she’s giving herself ‘grace’ with aging — and her best skincare advice

When it comes to beauty routines, Elizabeth Banks’ is pitch perfect.

The actress, 50, told Page Six Style that “so far,” she feels “pretty good” about her skin — but she also acknowledged that that “could change.”

“Look, I like to say I am aging naturally so far. So, I don’t know, I’m in a constant dialogue with myself too about how I wanna be, what I wanna look like, what makes me feel good about myself,” Banks told us at the premiere for her new film, “Skincare,” at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City on Tuesday.

“I wanna give myself grace to go in whatever direction I end up going in.”

Banks also shared her best beauty advice with us — and it’s more than skin deep.

“Get a lot of good sleep and drink a lot of water, and then figure out how to mentally love yourself, no matter what. I know how hard that can be for a lot of people. Try and tell yourself you’re gorgeous no matter what,” she said.

The “Pitch Perfect” star added that in addition to self-love, she prioritizes “hydration, hydration, hydration, moisture, moisture!”

“Skin loves moisture! Give it a lot of moisture –– that’s the other thing I would say,” she said.

Banks has previously spoken about the role self-esteem plays in beauty, and credits it as the reason she has yet to try Botox.

“I’m an all natural beauty. Nothing’s ever gone in here, you can tell. And that’s because my self-esteem is really high. I try and focus on my confidence and less on how I look,” Banks told Us Weekly in October.

The Archer Roose Wines co-founder emphasized that “so much of [skincare] is what’s inside as much as the outside.”

“To me, I find that when I don’t go outside every day, when I don’t exercise, my mental health deteriorates. When your mental health deteriorates, your self-esteem goes with it. Suddenly, all my habits are out the window,” she explained.

Despite all the products and procedures that are available these days, Banks reminded people that “aging is a privilege.”

“It’s better than the alternative, right? You want to age, trust me,” she teased.

Banks shared her outlook with Page Six Style while promoting the premiere of her new film, “Skincare,” which follows Banks’ character, a famed aesthetician, as she tries to figure out who is sabotaging her up-and-coming skincare line. The film hits theaters Aug. 16.
