Kendra Wilkinson has ‘unhealthy thoughts’ about sex after living in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy mansion

Kendra Wilkinson revealed in a new interview that she has developed “unhealthy thoughts” surrounding sex and intimacy because of her time spent living at the Playboy mansion as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend.

“I had to go through a lot of therapy, and they looked at me and they’re like — this is the first time I’m admitting this — but they’re like, ‘You might have a little bit of a sex problem. You have a little bit of a problem when it comes to thinking of sex,'” the ex-model shared on the “Amy and T.J.” podcast Thursday.

“It’s just unhealthy thoughts,” Wilkinson continued, noting that she still struggles “to this day with [her] relationships and [her] views on sex.”

Wilkinson, who became a Playboy bunny at the ripe age of 18, clarified that those “unhealthy” thoughts also pertain to her feelings about long-term relationships and “not really settling for a marriage.”

“Which is not, I wouldn’t say unhealthy — I’m saying that everyone has their choices, and some people wanna be single, some people wanna be married… and I’m more of a fun idea type of person,” the “Girls Next Door” alum explained.

“And so when those days came to an end, I crumbled so hard, and it almost killed me. It almost killed me.”

Wilkinson, 39, retired her Playboy bunny ears and left Hefner’s mansion when she was 23 years old.

She soon transitioned into married life, tying the knot with former NFL player Hank Baskett in 2009. They welcomed two kids together — Hank IV, 15, and Alijah, 10 — but called it quits in 2018.

Wilkinson still looks back on her time as a wife and mother as the “the golden years” of her life.

“It was the right timing. I found myself so bored at the Playboy Mansion. I was just like, ‘I’m ready to leave this place. I’m ready to start a family. I’m ready for the lifestyle: My kids go to a great school. I’m a soccer mom. I’m a softball mom. I’m a basketball mom,'” she said on Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ podcast.

“I manifested it, and it came to me, and I met the perfect man, the man of my dreams,” she continued.

However, Wilkinson and Baskett’s marriage came to an end after a brutal cheating scandal.

The mom of two added on the podcast that in spite of what they went through, she doesn’t hold onto any hard feelings and raved that she and her ex have a healthy co-parenting relationship.

“Even though we’re divorced, he’s the father of my kids and he’s the most amazing father to my kids, and I know I chose right with him,” she said.

Wilkinson has been vocal about her dating life as a single woman several times since their breakup.

In January 2024, she revealed she has been celibate since her divorce, but is ready to “have fun” again.

The reality TV star attempted to get on exclusive celebrity dating app, but claimed last November that she had been on the waitlist for four years.
