Royal insiders deem Meghan Markle’s new clothing venture ‘so crass,’ ‘shameless’

Meghan Markle’s new online clothing shop is being dubbed “shameless” by royal insiders, who believe the move is one big cash grab.

On Monday, Markle, 43, launched a ShopMy page, allowing fans to purchase her favorite clothing and accessories — and the Duchess of Sussex will likely get a hefty commission.

“A handpicked and curated collection of the things I love — I hope you enjoy them,” the mom-of-two wrote, adding that “some products may contain commissionable links.”

A source familiar with the Sussex camp questioned why Markle, and Prince Harry, would need to do this, asking: “Have they lost all their money?

“This is probably Meghan’s own idea. She probably got the offers once she rejoined Instagram, but it’s so crass,” said the source.

The deal may been brokered by the former “Suits” star’s Hollywood money manager Andrew Meyer, Page Six is told. We have reached to Meyer for comment.

Another royal source called the new site “shameless,” adding, “This has always been Meghan’s Achilles heel — applying celebrity status to the royal family as public servants, wanting to monetize her status.

“But blending the celebrity common practice of accepting things for free with public service doesn’t work.”

In his book “Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown,” royal author Valentine Low reported that Markle allegedly griped, “I can’t believe I’m not getting paid for this,” while on an official tour of Australia and Fiji with Harry in 2018.

Among her ShopMy page’s offerings are a $148 linen shirt by Reformation, a $495 “happiness retreat” necklace by Maya Brenner and a $1,350 “Windsor gown.”

The muted shades of gray, brown, blue and cream mirror the California-chic outfits Markle wears on her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.”

In her previous Netflix docu-series, “Harry & Meghan,” Markle claimed she didn’t wear colorful clothes while working in the royal family so as not to clash with the late Queen Elizabeth II or other senior royals.

“Like, I’m not trying to stand out here,” she insisted. “So there’s no version of me joining this family and trying to not do everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

The royal source found that sentiment rich in light of the new site: “Meghan made this fuss that the palace wouldn’t let her wear color, but this is her preferred palette.”

Markle linked out to the new page from her Instagram Stories on Monday, writing, “Many of you have asked, so here you go! A little shopping to start the week. More to come. Link in bio,” with a link to “Shop My Closet.”

As Page Six revealed, she has teamed up with Netflix to produce her As Ever jams and lifestyle products.

They will be on sale soon, we’re told, but it’s a far cry from the original expectation that Markle would be producing home-grown products in California under her old lifestyle range name, ‘American Riviera Orchard.” She was forced to scrap that plan due to trademark issues.
