Watch wild moment Nelly tells Ashanti he refuses to change their baby’s diapers: I’ve ‘got nothing for him’

No diaper changes on Nelly’s watch.

The rapper, 50, insisted to his wife, Ashanti, that he won’t deal with their baby boy’s diapers in a viral clip from their new reality show.

When the singer, 44, called out her husband for not responding to Kareem’s cries at night on “Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together,” he quipped, “It’s all you, I ain’t even gonna lie. You know I ain’t got nothing for him.”

Nelly hit back at Ashanti’s request to “get up [because] it’s your turn to change him.”

He said, “I’m gonna take you back to this conversation we had before. … I said, ‘Baby, I’ll give you the world. I just ain’t changing no diaper.”

His partner replied, “Oh, my God,” before rolling her eyes, sighing and looking down at her phone.

Earlier in the conversation, she admitted that taking care of their now-11-month-old son was “a lot” to handle.

Ashanti explained, “It’s absolutely ridiculous that you’ll be in a dead sleep and he’ll be mad loud. That’s ridiculous.”

The Peacock show cut to a clip of Nelly with his friends, joking, “Until he can say ‘I’m hungry’ [and] … ‘I need to use the bathroom,’ it’s gonna be a lot in [her] lap. I told her [to] enjoy because as soon as he gets to walking and talking, he’ll be with the crew.”

Social media users blasted the three-time Grammy winner over his comments, with one referring to Ashanti as a “married single mom.”

Another wrote, “She waited all these years to have a baby by a teenager 🤦🏾‍♀️.”

Nelly, who has four adult children and now parents on “cruise control,” clarified in a recent interview with The Shade Room that he pays for nannies for Kareem.

“Just watching [Ashanti] go through it, I know what this truly meant to her. I know she always wanted kids,” he said. “She knows whatever she needs, I provide.”

Nelly noted that he has been “living vicariously” through Ashanti.

The couple’s love story began in 2003 when they dated for a decade, only to reconcile — and secretly tie the knot — in 2023.

Ashanti gave birth to Kareem in July of the following year.

While a report surfaced in November 2024 that Ashanti is pregnant with their second child together, the duo have yet to confirm nor deny their family is expanding.

Nelly previously welcomed Chanelle, 31, and Cornell, 26, with then-girlfriend Channetta Valentine. He also adopted Shawn and Sydney when their mom, his sister Jackie Donahue, died of leukemia in 2005.
