Doja Cat channels Tina Turner in chainmail dress for Vogue World: Hollywood performance

The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll would be proud.

During her performance of “Gorgeous” at Vogue World: Hollywood in LA Sunday night, Doja Cat paid tribute to Tina Turner in a bold-shouldered chainmail dress and teased-to-the-heavens platinum blond wig inspired by the late music icon’s look from the 1985 film “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.”

Crafted by costume designer Michael Schmidt, who collaborated with Turner on a number of her looks over the years, Doja’s outfit was covered in layers of gleaming silver rings — as were her matching Christian Louboutin heels.

Turner, who died in 2024 at age 83, recorded two songs for the film: “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)” and “One of the Living,” the latter of which won her a Grammy.

The latest iteration of Vogue World — which follows events in Paris and New York — celebrated the relationship between film and fashion, with a focus on the most stylish characters captured on celluloid.

Doja was far from the only superstar on the runway; Gracie Abrams also performed during the event, while Nicole Kidman opened the show in a Chanel gown inspired by Rita Hayworth’s from “Gilda.” Julia Garner, Angela Bassett and Hunter Schafer also graced the catwalk in film-inspired fashions.

Staged on the Paramount Pictures Studios Lot, Vogue World: Hollywood featured the work of top Tinseltown costume designers, including Colleen Atwood (“Edward Scissorhands”), Ruth E. Carter (“Black Panther”), Milena Canonero (“Marie Antoinette”), Arianne Phillips (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”) and more.

100% of ticket proceeds from the event will support the Entertainment Community Fund, with a focus on supporting costume professionals impacted by the LA wildfires.
