It appears Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are over — for good this time.

The duo were forced to shut down split rumors in August 2024 after reports surfaced that they had “accepted their relationship” was over.

However, by June 2025, another report claimed that Johnson and Martin had split again, with a source telling People, “It feels final this time.”

Take a look back at some of the on-again, off-again couple’s most memorable moments, which began after the Coldplay frontman’s infamous “conscious uncoupling” with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

October 2017: Martin and Johnson spark dating rumors with a sushi date

Three years after Martin split from Paltrow, he was spotted on a sushi date with Johnson in Los Angeles, sparking dating rumors for the first time.

They were “cozy, laughing and affectionate,” a source, who saw the “Hymn for the Weekend” singer with the “Madame Web” star while out to dinner, told People at the time.

The rumored couple did not immediately confirm their romance.

January 2018: Martin and Johnson’s romance heats up with more sightings

Martin and Dakota fueled speculation that they were getting more serious when they were seen attending a star-studded fashion show together in Los Angeles three months after their first public sighting.

September 2018: Johnson breaks her silence on her relationship with Martin

Martin and Johnson dated for months before either one confirmed or spoke of their relationship.

However, when a reporter for Tatler magazine finally brought up her relationship in September 2018, the “Fifty Shades Freed” star said, “I’m not going to talk about it. But I am very happy.”

Johnson also gave a more subtle confirmation of her romance with Martin that same month by sporting a matching tattoo with the “Viva La Vida” singer.

December 2018: Johnson vacations with Martin, Paltrow and their blended family

Martin and Paltrow appeared to be Brad Falchuk.

A source exclusively told Page Six at the time that the couples and children were vacationing in the South Asian country for the holidays, including Christmas and possibly New Year’s Day.

The blended family had reportedly also spent that Thanksgiving together, with a source telling People at the time, “They’re a total modern family and had a great time celebrating together.”

May 2019: Martin and Johnson reportedly break up for a brief period of time

In June 2019, the Sun reported that Martin and Johnson had been telling friends they split the month prior.

“There was talk of engagement, but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone,” a source claimed to the outlet at the time.

Neither Martin nor Johnson confirmed those rumors, however.

June 2019: Martin fuels split rumors as he’s seen out with a blond mystery woman

Although Martin and Johnson stayed mum amid their breakup rumors, the “Fix You” singer appeared to send a message that he was back on the market when he was spotted with another woman.

In June 2019, Martin was seen hopping onto a helicopter with a young blond in London with Johnson nowhere in sight.

August 2019: Martin and Johnson appear back on as they are seen on a romantic trip

Martin and Johnson got handsy in the Hamptons while on vacation in August 2019, confirming they were still in a romantic relationship.

The duo was photographed at the time going for a dip into the water together, while the “Fifty Shades Darker” star rubbed on the “Sky Full of Star” singer’s back.

October 2020: Martin and Johnson move in together

The Post exclusively reported in January 2021 that Martin and Johnson bought a lavish pad in Malibu, Calif., after dating for three years.

Property records showed the pair purchased their $12.5 million dream home on Oct. 22, 2020.

The 5,338-square-foot property boasted six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool with a spa, a full outdoor barbecue area and a two-story guesthouse with a game room.

December 2020: Martin and Johnson spark engagement rumors for the first time

In December 2020, Johnson was seen sporting a large emerald sparkler on her left ring finger, sparking speculation that she and Martin were headed down the aisle.

However, the engagement was not confirmed at this time.

November 2023: Paltrow and Johnson prove their bond is strong with endearing pic

For several years, Martin and Johnson continued to keep their relationship private with only a few public sightings here and there.

However, in November 2023, Paltrow showed that the “Peanut Butter Falcon” star was still very much a part of her extended family by sharing a sweet photo of the two women holding hands.

March 2024: Johnson makes a rare remark about being a stepmom to Martin’s kids

Johnson told Bustle of Apple and Moses in March 2024, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”

“I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water,” Johnson — whose mother, Melanie Griffith, married Antonio Banderas after splitting from Don Johnson — explained.

“The actual saying is ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to.”

March 2024: It is confirmed that Martin and Johnson had been engaged ‘for years’

Sources confirmed to Page Six in March 2024 that Martin and Johnson had been engaged for many years but kept their relationship milestone private.

We were told at the time that the “Sparks” singer had bought the “Social Network” actress a ring but she had just chosen to not wear it all the time.

Insiders also confirmed that Martin and Johnson had been through a few rough patches, including some brief splits, before taking the next step in their relationship.

A source added to the Mirror at the time, “They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.”

August 2024: Rumors swirl that Martin and Johnson broke up a second time

Johnson was seen going on a hike with her dog without her engagement ring on Aug. 11, 2024, sparking split rumors.

A source then claimed to the Daily Mail five days later that the “How to Be Single” star had indeed called it quits with the “Yellow” singer.

The exes “have now accepted the relationship is over — and it’s best to move on,” a source claimed to the outlet at the time.

However, Johnson’s rep was forced to shut down the rumors, telling Page Six, “The reports are not true. They are happily together.”

June 2025: Martin and Johnson reportedly call it quits — again

While things seemed to be going smoothly for awhile, reports that the two called it quits for good surfaced in early June 2025.

“It feels final this time,” a source told People on June 4.

Johnson also seemingly hinted at a split while promoting her new movie, “Materialists,” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that was published that same day.

When asked what made the role “feel different for her,” the actress replied, “The complexities of all of the characters. The paradox. Everyone being confused about what the f–k they’re supposed to do with their hearts and what’s the right move. I found that very honest, and I found it just so relatable.”

Prior to the reported split news, the two were spotted out and about in Malibu, Calif., in mid-May, marking their last known public appearance together.
