On today’s episode of Variety‘s “Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten discusses the launch last month of the company’s subscription streaming platform with Amazon and how it reinforces the indie studio’s purpose-built content brand.
Hoogstraten launched the company with filmmaker Jon Irwin in late 2023. The swift growth of the company inside of two years has reaffirmed her belief that there was a market for movies and TV shows with themes that incorporate faith, spirituality, family and love of country without being explicitly branded as faith-based content.

“What I have learned over time is that success is a combination of the people you have, the strategy and timing. And so what we’ve been able to accomplish over the course of the last two years is in part because our time had come. I feel blessed to be a steward, leading this company at this moment in time. And part of that was the first look deal that we had, with Amazon that we announced in January of 2024,” Hoogstraten says.
“We and Amazon were both really excited about finding a way to tap into this audience. A month in, we are just blown away by the excitement and engagement that we are seeing from this audience. And it really helps us because we are also a production company that is selling our shows inside of Hollywood, because we really find that being a partner to Amazon and Sony and TriStar and Angel Studios and others. We want to showcase that we actually understand our audience and that our audience is everywhere. And so this is a great proof point for us to showcase and share with them. It is also an amazing proof point to say we know how to reach and speak to our audience. and that this brand really is standing for something,” she says.
