Submit via FTP
No matter what format your walkthrough or FAQ, you can submit it for publish via FTP. Files uploaded to our FTP are not downloadable, so you don't have to worry about others robbing your stuff.
We'll remove the files from the FTP on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, at 4:00 PM PST as we process and publish your walkthroughs and FAQs.Microsoft Internet Explorer is best used for FTP (enable folder view for passive FTP). However, if you somehow allowed Microsoft Explorer to automatically open files like JPGs, GIFs, DOCs, RTFs, or even TXTs, then dragging and dropping will not work until you disable the auto-open feature of Internet Explorer.

For FireFox users, the FireFTP plug-in is the handiest tool you can use for uploading guides, maps, and updates to IGN by FTP. If you want to use an FTP client such as SmartFTP, WS FTP Pro or other similar programs to access the FTP function. For this purpose, the username and password for the FAQs FTP is public knowledge and listed below.
If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, you can click the button to the right to instantly open a portal to our FTP for simple drag-and-drop submission. To enable FTP "folder view", click the button and then select "View" —> "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer" from the top menu. If you'd like to use an FTP program other than Microsoft Explorer, here are the login particulars:

All submissions are subject to approval by staff prior to being published on IGN. A submissions that violates any combination of U.S. copyright laws will not be published. Instead, someone will come after you with pointed sticks, suck your brains out with a straw, and claim your plasma, bone marrow, and/or internal organs for needy children on a first come, first serve basis. |
Passwords, Permissions, and Problems on FTP
Club IGN guests have limited permissions in the FTP. Guests may:
Guests may not delete, move, or download files. Avoid over-writing files by creating a folder with your IGN login username and current date in the FTP. Drag and drop your walkthrough and FAQ files into that folder on the FTP. By naming your personal folder this way...
