Junior April Smith registered her 16th double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds during an 80-41 victory against New Jersey City.
WAYNE, N.J. – No. 23/24 William Paterson (20-3, 9-2 NJAC) earned its 20th win of the season with an easy 80-41 victory against visiting New Jersey City (5-17, 0-10 NJAC) Feb. 9. Junior guard BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) posted game bests of 19 points and eight assists, classmate April Smith (Barnegat, N.J./Southern Regional) had her 16th double-double of the season with 11 tallies and 10 rebounds.

WAYNE, N.J. - New Jersey City (14-8, 6-4 NJAC) used a 14-2 run early in the second half to help secure a 63-47 victory at William Paterson (12-11, 4-7 NJAC) Feb. 9 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference men's basketball North Division Clash at the Pioneers' Rec Center.

Senior Gabriel Paul (Newark, N.J./Hillside) led William Paterson with 15 points and five rebounds. Sophomore Mike Henry (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) added six tallies and four boards off the bench.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (12-3, 1-3 NJAC) finished its dual-meet schedule with a 154-107 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory against visiting Ramapo (5-6, 1-3 NJAC) Feb. 7.

Junior Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was a triple winner, touching first in the 200 IM (2:28.10) and posting season-best times in the 100 (1:11.96) and 200 (2:39.28) breasts.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (10-4, 0-4 NJAC) lost in its final dual meet of the season, suffering a 167-95 loss against visiting Ramapo (6-4, 1-3 NJAC) Feb. 7.

Junior Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) was a double winner for the Pioneers, touching first in the 100 (55.43) and 200 (2:07.56) flies.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Women's basketball guard Julie Haledjian (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) was the recipient of William Paterson University's Outstanding Athlete Award at New Jersey's 19th-annual award luncheon in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The luncheon, which was held Feb. 6 at Seton Hall University, honored student-athletes at Garden State colleges and universities.

WAYNE, N.J. – Women’s basketball junior guard BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Feb. 7.
 
Lucas averaged 22.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game during a 2-0 week for the Pioneers, shooting 51.9 (14-27) percent from the field and 70.0 (7-10) percent from three-point range while knocking down all 10 free-throw attempts to help the Pioneers clinch the New Jersey Athletic Conference’s (NJAC) North Division title. She had game highs of 24 points, five assists and four steals, adding three rebounds and a blocked shot, during a 68-57 win at Montclair State Feb. 2, going 7-for-15 (.467) from the field, 2-for-3 (.667) from behind the arc and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Lucas then scored 14 of her 21 points during the first half of a 66-41 victory at Rutgers-Newark Feb. 5, adding three rebounds and two steals. She connected on three of her five treys to key a decisive 14-6 run during the first period.
