Doha rolling out the dough for Qatar infrastructure, set to launch new projects worth $65 billion

Qatar is set to launch development projects worth an estimated $65bn soon. Of this, $30bn ventures are high-profile projects, H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority announced here yesterday.
Delivering the opening address at a seminar on 2022 World Cup, Qatar is looking for Japan to share their expertise .
Qatar, like many other countries, face challenges to meet the needs of future development in an efficient and sustainable way. The Japanese companies, which are global names in the fields of green designs and energy efficient projects, can share their expertise with Qatar.
Talking to the media, Al Attiyah exuded confidence that the FIFA-related projects are progressing as per their original schedule. "It needs lot of preparations and discussions. We need to bring in experts from different sectors around a table. We are giving maximum encouragement to all the stakeholders", he said.
Ali Abdullah Al Abdullah, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning Affairs, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, said the government institutions and private sector establishments in Japan play a vital role in the areas of cooperation related to transportation, energy, water, small and medium enterprises, health, education, sports and activities supporting the development for a diversified sustainable economy for the state of Qatar. "We are keen to become more acquainted with the experience Japan has in various important projects areas related to roads, bridges, tunnels, metro networks", he said.
Motoi Sasaki, the vice-minister for land, infrastructure and Hokkaido Developments, Shingo Tsuda, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar and Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, Chief Executive Director, Overseas Construction Association of Japan spoke at the function.
