I’m increasingly of the belief that incentive design is the most important problem to work on. Humans are good at overcoming obstacles when they have reason to do so — the worst problems tend to be ones of cooperation, not technological or scientific understanding.

I want an art school to let me to teach a class on creating fun. Aka: what qualities make an interactive experience or object fun? Fun is an important dimension in our things that gets a lot less talk than function and aesthetics. All human experience is mediated by emotions.

Super interesting to see Coinbase's stance on clarifying their mission ( see -> ). Since this has been an active discussion in many places, setting up a poll on whether people want to see other companies do this.

Woke up to a great paradoxical notion from : sometimes the main benefit of non-linear authoring (whiteboard, hypertext, Muse) is actually linear thought! These envs offer a “release valve” for tangential stuff so you can focus on your “main” idea.

So awesome. In my 20s, my thinking coach taught me to “think on paper.” It’s like first gear for thinking: you go slower but can climb much steeper hills.

Bullet points are so underrated. It's a shame that prose appears more "serious" a text artifact than a list; lists are so much easier to read, especially when you're trying to indicate that a set of things is alike!

What’s an example of a “crucial detail” from your line of work that outsiders might notice but wouldn’t consider significant unless an insider pointed out how/why it was crucial?
