  18. Most people just sen you the details from a checque; sort code, account number, and name. In many cases this will fail account verification without anyone understanding just why. After ll, they sent you what they think is the name on the account...

  19. Here's something annoying: the UK has introduced account verification for new bank account transfers. This is good; it reduces the risk of fraud. However, the identifier is the name on the account. This is not what's on your cheque book; it is the name the account was opened in.
